I noticed there was a discussion for AFROTC scholarships but since I'll be in AROTC i was wondering if there were any differences for getting scholarships from AROTC.
Also I'd appreciate it if any current AROTC student to comment on what they think of the program.
Well, I'm actually dropping out for other reason's but I was in AROTC and it was probably the most fun I had at school. Also it's a helluvah lot easier to get a full ride with army. You need a min 2.5 gpa and you have to pass the pt test and of course there must be slots open, but if you want a full ride you can probably get it. for the pt test stuff go to 550cord.com and just use the pt fitness calculator there. This past spring they were trying a few different things out, like having everything in the morning every day of the week. they stopped that towards the end of the semester because most people were getting pretty worn down. I suggest you go to zero week and just kind of check it out. also.....stay away from chartwells if you can, it's bad to say the least
well, sometimes chartwells is ok.......I usually just ate cereal or ice cream and stayed away from the stuff they "prepared"
and you have to apply for the scholarships yourself, takes a bit of time but call the army office and ask for darlene think the extension is 3870. She really knows her stuff and can set you right if you wanted a scholarship. For the scholar you need to pass a dodmerb (department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board) which is basicly just a phhysical and an eye exam. also the min 2.5 gpa and the pt test like I said earlier. If you actually want the scholarship you can get it if you apply your self, but i'd get on it. they have 4 3.5 3 and 2 yr scholarships
almost all of army rotc is on scholarship though mostly 3 yr because they didn't apply soon enough or needed a waiver to pass dodmerb
