For those of you who live in Socal, I noticed that two airlines will be starting service from Prescott to LAX and Ontario (CA) come September. The LAX flight will be operated by Horizon Air on 74-seat Bombardier Q400s. The Ontario flight will be operated by Great Lakes Airlines on 19-seat Beechcraft 1900Ds. Both are reasonably priced and on par with the ticket prices from Phoenix, at least for now.
This will undoubtedly make flying home for Thanksgiving weekend easier (no drive to Phoenix). Comments?
Yeah but I'm just starting out flying. Of course RIDING with someone would be plausible for me. I take it you're from around Carlsbad? I'm in Temecula myself, so my local airport is French Valley. They handle private jets, and I know they can handle regional jets because there's a guy who bases his private ERJ-145 there.
I heard Carlsbad was getting a new terminal, is that true? Unfortunately it was a major loss when CRQ lost their PHX service.
Oh I forgot to mention the service to Prescott starts on September 7th (Great Lakes to ONT) and September 8th (Horizon to LAX).
